Description

The Myc proto-oncogene protein (c-Myc) participates in the regulation of gene transcription. C-Myc is a transcription factor that binds DNA containing the core sequence 5'-CACGATG-3' but also in a non-specific manner. c-Myc activates genes related to cell growth. Overexpression of c-Myc is implicated in the etiology of a variety of hematopoietic tumors. A chromosomal aberration involving MYC is a cause of a B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. This antibody recognizes the C-term c-Myc peptide (EQKLISEEDL) used to express c-Myc-tagged fusion proteins.
