Description

This antibody recognizes the C5b-9 complement components, also named the terminal complement complex (TCC) that consists of the C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9 components. The antibody specifically binds to a neoepitope exposed on C9 component upon complex formation in both membrane-bound (MAC) and fluid phase (SC5b-9) complexes. The antibody can be used for detecting C5b-9 in ELISA and immunohistocytology. The neoepitope is destroyed upon complex disruption during a western blot procedure.
