Description

This antibody recognizes the CD41 antigen within the CD41/CD61 heterodimer (also called integrin IIbIIIa), which is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes. The CD41/CD61 cell surface protein is the receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin and von Willebrand factor and mediates platelet adhesion and aggregation. The antibody can be used for detecting CD41 in flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation.

Application Notes

FACS with whole blood: 100 μl blood + 10 μl antibody

FACS with cells: 500,000 cells in 50 μl + 10 μl antibody

FACS with platelets: 5 μl blood + 5 μl antibody, add 1 ml 1% paraformaldehyde after 15 min, no wash needed. Platelets must be stained within 10 min of blood collection.

This antibody recognizes the CD41 antigen in the CD41/CD61 complex. In flow cytometry, the antibody stains >90% of human peripheral blood platelets.
