Coilin is found in the nuclear coiled bodies (CBS) or Cajal bodies, which are involved in snRNP and snoRNP biogenesis and posttranscriptional modification of newly assembled spliceosomal snRNAs. CBS are located in the interchromatin space between the nucleolus and the nucleus
