Description

Hepatocyte growth factor activator inhibitor type 1 (HAI-1) is a secreted protease inhibitor that inhibits hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) activator. Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) activator is a serine protease that is produced and secreted by the liver and circulates in the blood as an inactive zymogen. Activated HGF is involved in the regeneration of the injured tissue.
