MMP-7 Antibody

Matrix metalloproteinase protein family (MMP) is involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in diseases such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMPs are secreted as inactive precursors which are activated upon cleavage by extracellular proteinases. MMP-7 is an enzyme that activates procollagenase and degrades fibronectin, casein, and gelatins of types I, III, IV and V.
