Vimentins are class-III intermediate filaments found in various non-epithelial cells, especially mesenchymal cells. Vimentin forms homopolymer highly expressed in fibroblasts and many hormone-independent mammary carcinoma cell lines. Vimentin interacts with HCV core protein.
