CGRP is a potent cardiovascular agent with structural similarity with amylin. CGRP is found in two isoforms (CGRP-I and CGRP-II) that differ only by 3 amino acids.

Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36-amino-acid residue peptide with sequence and 3-D structural homology with PYY and pancreatic polypeptide (PP). NPY serves as a neurotransmitter and is exclusively localized in neurons in the central and peripheral nervous system. NPY is associated with the regulation of heart rate and food intake in several mammalian species. This antibody binds to an epitope in the midregion (18-24) of full length human, mouse and rat NPY. Cross-reactivity with NPY (1-24) , NPY (18-36), PYY or PP was almost inexistant (<0.2%).
