Description

Fibroblast growth factor-9 (FGF-9) is a steroid-regulated mitogen and survival factor for nerve and mesenchymal cells, it is an autocrine/paracrine growth factor considered to be important for the growth and survival of motorneurons and prostate. Recombinant Rat FGF-9 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 205 amino acids with a MW of 23,308 Da.

Format

Each vial contains 10 ug protein lyophilized in 10 mM sodium phosphate pH7.5, 75 mM ammonium sulfate. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Purity

Purity is approximately 95% as determined by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.

Application Notes

rR-FGF-9 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of BAF3 cells expressing FGF receptors is <0.5 ng/ml.

Storage

Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
