ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (ARF6) is a GTP-binding protein involved in protein trafficking. ARF6 regulates endocytic recycling and cytoskeleton remodeling, and modulates vesicle budding and uncoating within the Golgi apparatus. ARF6 functions as an allosteric activator of the cholera toxin catalytic subunit, an ADP-ribosyltransferase. Arf6 is involved in the regulation of dendritic spine development.
