Research Associate, Monoclonal Antibody Production, Part-time (Ref #1703)

Job Summary: The position requires being technically competent in the field of monoclonal antibody production. The individual will carry out monoclonal antibody production by hybridoma technology for our contract research projects and in-house development projects. 

Duties and Responsibilities: Manage monoclonal antibody production from animal immunization to clone expansion. Manage our vivarium of mice and rats. Validate antibodies for applications (WB, ELISA, IHC, IF). Support custom antibody production (polyclonal and monoclonal) as needed. Develop and manage new antibody release to market. Perform QC on existing products.

Position Minimum Requirements: B.S. in Cell Biology. Entry-level to 5-yr experience in hybridoma technology, clone expansion and characterization. Wide knowlegde of immunological techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistology or Western blotting a plus. Experience in a similar commercial environment would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will possess strong scientific knowledge with troubleshooting experience, excellent computer skills and demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent follow through and a willingness to make efforts necessary to complete a task. Hands-on experience with immunotechniques is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and data base programs are desired (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PhotoShop). Candidate must have excellent organization skills and a professional and friendly demeanor to be part of a motivated team operating a Life Sciences reagent biotech company.
